Arlene Bitely School
2023-2024
Dear Parents,
Welcome back! My name is Ms. Felix and this is my 23rd year teaching for the Garvey School District. I was born and raised in the city of Rosemead. I attended St. Anthony’s Elementary School and Ramona Convent High School. I graduated from UCLA and received my Masters in Education. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught first, fifth, and sixth grade, however, most of my years teaching have been spent in fourth grade. Many members of my family, including my husband, are involved in education. Education has always been and continues to be an important part of my life.
As I begin my 23rd year of teaching, I look forward to implementing new ideas, knowledge, and most importantly, sharing my love of learning with my sixth-grade students. Each new school year is exciting as it brings forth new experiences and opportunities. I am delighted to have the honor and privilege to work alongside you and your child this year. One of my focus areas is to instill in the students the idea of establishing a “Growth Mindset” in which they are constantly trying their best even when faced with challenges that seem impossible to achieve. I want them to have the confidence to make what they may see as impossible, POSSIBLE.
This year will be filled with adventures, challenges, and new learning experiences. I am certain with your support and your child’s effort, we will have a very successful year. Please feel free to come and see or contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns about what is going on in our classroom or in regard to your child’s academic success.
Sincerely,
Ms. Felix
